Company History: Since 1970 UCSI is a hybrid of two companies, Universal Conversion Services and Automated Accounting Services. Automated Accounting Services was founded in 1970, and this company provided accounting services that were processed on mainframe computers. In 1987, along with Automated Accounting Services, Universal Conversion Services became UCSI, a data conversion company specializing in the conversion of electronic media (the conversion of one type of electronic media to another).
Universal Conversion technicians can convert 4mm data tape, 8mm exabyte tape, 9 track (flat reel), 3480/3490/3490e, Travan TR-1, TR-2, TR-3, TR-4, IBM 3470, IBM 3490, QIC cartridges (all densities), CD-ROM, 3 1/2" diskettes, 5 1/4 diskettes, and 8" diskettes as well as many other backup tape devices used within the last ten years. In addition to our extensive knowledge and experience with electronic media conversion, UCSI also has the capabilities needed to work with a number of different data formats (the transformation of one media format to another) including UNIX, DOS, MAC, IBM mainframe, 360/370, system 34, 36, 38, and AS 400. UCSI is able to transfer data from all levels of DOS, Win95, Win98, Win2000, and WinNT server to an IBM mainframe format. Universal Conversion technicians have been working with databases for the past three years, and we at UCSI take great pride in our ability to reformat databases. We are able to add and remove specific data elements from databases to provide the exact formats our customers are seeking.
UCSI outshines other companies performing similar services because we can use both IBM mainframes and pc based machines in conjunction with each other to perform the many transfers and formates required by different types of machines. UCSI technicians also have the ability to create writing programs for special needs. We use the equipment owned and software written by UCSI to solve almost any problem that may arise within a given job. By utilizing the software created by UCSI technicians over the past 13 years, UCSI is able to keep our customers' costs low and our turnaround time on jobs received by clients quick and efficient. Universal Conversion technicians and employees possess the expertise and years of experience needed in data conversion to help you with all your data conversion needs.
UCSI clients range anywhere from U.S. Government Departments and large corporations to individuals interested in converting one diskette format to another, and we welcome them all.
