Document Conversion

What Kind of Documents Can I Convert?

Document conversion is simply translating document files from one format to another. It is primarily used for translating existing documentation into HTML for internet or intranet access, but can be used for other formats, such as WordStar, WordPerfect and other applications. Other examples of our services involve conversions to/from formats such as microfilm, 16mm, 35mm, microfiche, hard copy paper to any electronic format. In addition, we support Adobe *.pdf, msword, *.tif, and many others.

What About Documents Created With Older Formats and Word Processors?

This is a common request. Our over thirty years of experience have given us familiarity with almost every format and processor commercially available. We work with "old" or obsolete word processing formats and can convert them to today's more advanced forms. Examples include transferring IBM  DisplayWrite to MSWord, Commodore AT to ASCII text. The list goes on and on.

In fact, there are over 1 million possible conversion combinations that UCSI can support!

How Does it Start?

All data conversion projects begin with your company's decision to employ data conversions as a tool to solve a problem. The decision is based on a number of business factors including the cost of the service, the value and integrity of the data, and the logistics of the project. Consultation with a technician can be the most effective means of making your decision. Once the decision has been made, the project begins. The first step is to answer a few basic questions:

  • What format do you want it in?
  • What format is your data in?
  • How fast does the conversion need to happen?
  • How much data needs to be converted?
  • What method do you want us to use to transmit the data back to you?

The answers and details to these questions are used by our technicians to create a conversion scheme for your particular situation. Once we are satisfied with the accuracy of the conversion process, the live data is converted and tested. Our technicians are ready for the arrival of your data.
